History of MacIntyre

MacIntyre Housing Association is an exempt charity developing and managing high quality accommodation for adults with learning disabilities.

In March 2008 MacIntyre Housing Association became part of Grand Union Housing Group.

Projects range from highly specialised schemes developed around individual needs to conventional self-contained flats with housing association tenancies.

We encourage tenants to take an active role in decision making.  We have developed clear and easy to read tenant information about our services.  Our housing management is geared to the needs of each person so we can help tenants lead rich and fulfilling lives.

MacIntyre works well with partner agencies to develop practical, innovative and cost effective alternatives to residential and hospital care.

As part of Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG), MacIntyre is able to work continually to bring in cost saving measures and better ways of doing things for the benefit of tenants.

With its depth of experience and proven track record, MacIntyre will increasingly be looking at new opportunities in other parts of the country.

What makes us special?

We provide a wide range of accommodation from traditional residential homes, shared housing and individual self-contained flats.

We work directly with tenants on housing support issues and in partnership with others to provide the help tenants need. We provide individualised information, often in the form of pictures, for each tenant.

We meet all our tenants to listen to their concerns and respond to them on a regular basis.

We involve family and other carers in our plans for the future.

What can we do?

Build highly specialised buildings around your needs.

Provide an ordinary flat with a housing association tenancy ….. and most options in between.

Provide individualised supported housing management to all our tenants/licensees.

Encourage tenants/licensees to give us their views and to take part in decision making.

We want to do more....

We want to:

help find the right housing solution for more people with learning disabilities.

help to encourage our tenants to be independent and take the best decisions they can.

be involved with our tenants, and potential tenants, so we know what they want from us.
